SAN ANTONIO - Colleagues gathered Tuesday at the Bexar County Courthouse to honor and share stories of working with Commissioner Paul Elizondo.

He said the city has changed a lot since the early 1980s, but many of them are for the better.

“Government Canyon is one of the things I'm very proud of,” he said. “And the Texas Diabetes Center, all of those things over 30 years you can get a lot done if you keep working."

Before joining the court, Elizondo was a state representative and worked for Edgewood and San Antonio independent school districts.

The Precinct 2 commissioner said he has no plans to retire.
